We couldn’t exist here at That Comedy Blog without a little help from our friends (or, as a Liverpool based blog, without shoehorning a Beatles lyric or two in for good measure). Here are some links to comedy stuff in Liverpool we think is great.
Another Comedy Night @
Every third Monday of the month, straight stand up, quality acts and new material, totally free. Another Comedy Night is held in Maguire’s Pizza Bar, Renshaw St. and is run by That Comedy. Liverpool’s longest running independent open mic night.
Matchbox Comedy Club @matchboxcomedy
That Comedy and Alastair Clark present a carefully curated new material night featuring stand up, sketch, clown and storytelling from acts you won’t see anywhere else in Liverpool. Held on the second Wednesday of the month at The Lantern Theatre.
Funny Looking Presents… @funnylookingpod
A new night in Liverpool, presenting hour long shows from big names and cult heroes -either WIP or touring Edinburgh shows. The hour is followed up by a live podcast recording, a hot mess of a shambles, featuring host and brains of the outfit Gav Cross plus special guests.
Liverpool Comedy Festival brings big names and local talent every September and The Comedy Trust runs courses, programmes and events, including promoting comedy in the community as a force for positive social change.
A majestic bunch of maker-uppers. The improvisation company responsible for the Liverpool Improvathon, and the recent six week Improvised Soap Opera, as well as monthly improv workshops and much more.

The Liverpool Revue @
Our editor is an ex-member of this prestigious red brick sketch troupe, so we have to admit we’re a little bias. A classic University sketch show twice a semester and a Fringe show every August.
